Still have questions?

We’ve answered a few common ones here

If you’re wondering how our support works, what to expect, or who we support, you’re not alone. We’ve put together some simple answers to help you get to know Journey Forward Supports a little better. If there’s anything else you’re unsure about, please reach out to our team. We’re always happy to chat.

Will I work with the same support worker regularly?

Yes, we believe that strong support comes from consistency. You will work with a small, reliable team who takes the time to get to know you properly. We stay intentionally boutique so that you are not passed between different workers or left explaining your routine to someone new each week.

Having familiar faces helps build trust, create routine and make support feel safe and predictable. We understand how important it is to feel comfortable with the people around you, so we keep your support team consistent unless you request a change. If a worker is away or unavailable, we will always talk with you before making any arrangements.

For more information about how we manage consistency or to discuss your preferences, feel free to contact Journey Forward Supports. We are always happy to explain how we work and answer any questions about our approach to team continuity.

Open communication is really important to us. If something feels off or is not working for you, we want to know about it. You will never be made to feel uncomfortable for speaking up. We are here to listen without judgement and to work with you to make things better. That could mean adjusting how support is delivered, changing who is involved, or simply talking things through to understand what you need.

We value honesty and respect in every relationship and understand that sometimes the smallest changes can make the biggest difference. We also understand that not every match is perfect. If you ever feel like you would be more comfortable with a different support worker or approach, we are open to that conversation and ready to support you through the change.

We keep our first meeting relaxed, welcoming and focused on you. There is no pressure to make decisions on the spot. This first conversation is our chance to understand what matters to you, what kind of support you are looking for and how we can help. We will talk through your goals, preferences, daily routines and anything else you would like to share.

We also explain how we work, answer any questions and make sure you feel comfortable before anything moves forward. You are welcome to have a family member, carer or support coordinator with you if that helps. We take detailed notes so you do not have to repeat yourself in future meetings. To arrange a first meeting or learn more about the process, you can contact Journey Forward Supports at any time.

Our team understand that support often works best when it includes the voices of those who know you well. Families and carers can play a big role in helping us understand your routines, preferences and goals. You are always in control of who is involved and how much they contribute. If you would like your family or carer to be part of planning, we welcome that.

If you prefer to handle things more independently, we will support that too. Our role is to listen, guide and make sure your plan reflects what matters to you. We encourage open communication and regular check-ins so everyone feels informed and included. We are flexible in how we involve others and will always respect your boundaries when it comes to who is part of your journey.

Yes, we have experience supporting individuals with a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression and trauma-related conditions. Our founder has both lived and professional experience in this space, which helps us approach support with understanding and care.

We know that mental health is not always visible and that good support goes beyond just helping with tasks. We take the time to build trust, move at your pace and create an environment that feels safe. We are calm, consistent and focused on building real connection, which can make all the difference when anxiety or emotional regulation is a concern. If you are looking for thoughtful, mental health-informed support, we are happy to chat further about what would feel right for you.

Our approach is designed to help you feel more capable in your own life, not just supported in the moment. We work alongside you on practical skills like cooking, budgeting, using public transport or setting routines. But we also focus on encouragement, decision-making and building confidence in everyday situations.

That might mean helping you speak up in appointments, try something new or set goals that feel meaningful to you. We believe that small wins create long-term growth, and we are here to help you notice and build on your own progress. Every person’s version of independence looks different, and we tailor our support to reflect that.

Absolutely. We believe support should never be something that is done for you without your input. You are at the centre of everything we do, and that includes setting goals that actually matter to you. At the start of your support, we talk about what is important in your life, both big goals and smaller day-to-day priorities. Then we work with you to break those into achievable steps. These goals are always flexible and can be updated or adjusted any time.

We also check in regularly to reflect on how things are going. This helps us make sure the support you are receiving is still the right fit. If you would like to learn more about how we approach this, feel free to contact Journey Forward Supports and speak with our team.

We stay small on purpose. That means you are not passed between teams or left waiting for answers. You are supported by people who know you properly and care about your progress. Our founder brings experience in mental health, disability employment and personalised support, which shapes our calm, human-centred approach. We do not follow a rigid model.

Everything we do is based on listening, building trust and working at your pace. We offer practical support with a long-term focus, helping you grow your confidence and independence in real ways.

If you are exploring options or looking for something more personal, contact Journey Forward Supports to have a chat about how we work and whether we are the right fit.
